The Nuts and Bolts of Clinical Health Research

In this “Nuts and Bolts of Clinical Health Research” course we focus on

• What is Research
• Different kinds of Research studies
• The Research Team and settings where research is mostly conducted
• Ethical Principles applicable to clinical health research

Ultimately, the course focuses on the basics of what is required to putting a research study into operation – from conception of the idea of doing research to the step in executing a research study. The mini course is aimed at students interested in engaging with a postgraduate degree [involving a research project], budding researchers, project managers or any person in the research team who have a clinical study to implement and who require basic information on clinical health research.

The lessons cover important aspects of what is required to implementing a study, as well as the building blocks for building a quality system to manage the research study.

This course is NOT about study design or the science per se,

but about a basic background on principles related to clinical health research

Course Format and Structure

• Modules are structure as a self-paced, interactive knowledge transfer
• To get most of the course, we highly recommend that you have an already existing research idea / topic
• We have designed the mini course in such a way that it is dynamic and fluid and completely adaptable to the needs of the participant. We invite you to bring your questions, challenges, and case-scenarios along while engaging with the modules.
